Birchmere Joins ITnova and Quevera to Form the Columbia Technology Group Joint Venture, a U.S. Small Business Administration certified 8(a) Joint Venture.
Columbia, MD March 4, 2020; The Birchmere Group, LLC recently teamed up with ITnova and Quevera to form the Columbia Technology Group Joint Venture, a certified 8(a) joint venture to win federal government 8(a) contracts.
On February 25, 2020, an agreement was signed where a joint venture was formed by a SBA-approved Mentor-Protégé Agreement between ITnova, Quevera, and The Birchmere Group.
“BECAUSE OF THE SBA’s MENTOR-PROTÉGÉ PROGRAM, MEMBERS OF THE COLUMBIA TECHNOLOGY GROUP JOINT VENTURE ARE WELL ON THEIR WAY TO BEING SUCCESSFUL.”
As a part of SBA’s Mentor-Protégé Program, businesses in certain SBA socio-economic categories can form joint ventures, which allow them to compete together for government contracts reserved for small businesses. These joint ventures would qualify for set-aside contracts that the small business is eligible for, including contracts set aside for 8(a), veteran-owned, women-owned, and HUBZone businesses.
Additional joint venture benefits to participants include:
- Collective representation of past performance
- Shared costs and resources
- Leveraging the other partner’s experience and market share
